Edward Woods Blackhurst. What regiment?

Post by Brownie »

Edward Woods BLACKHURST. A Groom. Known to have served in WW1 in France and later in Cairo and Ireland. I hope to find his military records, possibly with the 2nd battalion the King's regiment or Lancashire Hussars. I have letters of recommendation from Captain E.C.Cross. in Cairo, Dec. 1921, and from Captain J.H.L.Browne at Magilligan camp, Derry. 1922. Any help please?

Welcome to the Forum

If a soldier served after the end of WW1 his records will still be held by the Ministry of Defence at an office in Glasgow. It costs £30 to apply and it takes months for them to arrive.

I will look for the contact details but someone may beat me to it.
