While at the Liverpool Family History Regiment day on 28th September 2013. A relative of the above soldier came to our Family History Stall seeking information. I had a entry for Harry in my newspaper index so arrangements were made for him to come the Liverpool Archives on the Tuesday. Before he left he emptied a Marks and Spencer bag onto the table. The bag contained letters, Harry's army pay book and in the pay book was the Ribbons from Harry's 3 medals, also amongst the articles was the packaging for the War Penny. I am at present putting this outstanding collection into some order for Harry's relative and the Liverpool Archives are interested in exhibiting this fine collection next year with the approval of Harry's family. Harry was Killed in action at Loos on 25th September 1915 while him and his pal Alf Berry were escorting German POW's, they became separated and Harry was never seen again. What I am asking is if any medal collectors come across these Medals or if they are in someones collection now, can you get in touch with me even if I can obtain a picture of Harry's Medals it would make his family proud. Jane, Harry's wife kept all correspondence regarding Harry right up to the 1920's so I can only assume she may have pawned the medals as she was left a widow with 7 children and 2 of them I think were disabled. if any one hears or knows of how I can go locating these medals I would really appreciate it.
Regards to all who help
