I have the following soldier in my lists (see below)
23rd-June-1916
King's Liverpool Regiment
Private
J
3922
Wilson
Liverpool
Wounded

12th-Oct-1916
King's Liverpool Regiment
Private
J
3922
Wilson
Liverpool
Wounded

1st December 1916
King's Liverpool Regiment
Private
J.
3922
Wilson
Bootle
Previously reported wounded now reported Wounded and Missing

I also have another newspaper report published 6th September 1916

Pte J. Wilson
K.L.R
Missing since August 9th
8, Castor Street, Belmont Road, late Fox Street

Can't find a medal entry under this number, so I assume his under his new number His not on CWGC or SDGW so he could have been taken as Prisoner of war

Any assistance appreciated.

I estimate he was reported as wounded end of August/beginning on September

I Think Pte. J. Wilson who was posted as missing since 9th August 1916 is Private Joseph Wilson

9th August 1916
Missing
Son of the late Anthony and Amelia Wilson. Husband of Alice Maud Wilson, of 42, White Rock St., West Derby Rd., Liverpool.

Hi Katie,

I was just about to post this and saw your second comment, this would seem to corroborate them being the same man

There is one Wilson family living in Fox Street on the 1911 census, Joseph Wilson age 29 Cocoa Room Proprietor, wife Alice Maud, son Frederick Balmer Wilson and one servant.

Thank you Amanda.

Private J Wilson 3922 and Private J. Wilson who was killed are two separate soldiers. I will just record the entries I have for Private J. Wilson from Bootle/Liverpool as not being recorded under that number.

Just in case something comes up and he was renumbered, the MICs show a Pte McCarthy who was number 3923 in the KLR and became 306555 KLR. I know the renumbering wasn't completely straightforward but I always find that every scrap of information helps for identification :)
