I have the following soldier in my data base

Royal Fusiliers
Pritchard
1363
Edward
Private
St.Helens
Died
NO RECORD ON CWGC
20th June 1917

I was unable to locate him on CWGC or SDGW.

He also appears in a list of soldiers reported wounded published 1917

Royal Fusiliers
Private
Edward
1363
Pritchard
St. Helens
Wounded

On checking his medal card it states he died on 20th April 1917

I have a death registered in the Prescot District

June qtr 1917
Edward Pritchard 22 years Prescot 8b 905

I have checked St. Helens Cemetery no record of a Edward Pritchard being buried there.

Could someone double check that I have not missed him while searching CWGC.

I can put him in my list of possible IFTC soldiers.

I think I have located Edward on the 1911 census residing in Eccleston Terrace, Rainhill with his Parents Robert James and Ellen Pritchard.

Possible trip to St. Helens to check St. Annes, Rainhill burials.

Went to St. Helens today and Edward was buried in St. Anne's Rainhill. I found a newspaper report regarding his death and unfornualty I don't think he is eligable for War graves status. He enlisted in August 1914 with the London Royal Fusiliers and was wounded twice the second time being December 1916ish. He commenced work at Lea Green Colliery St. Helens about the 10th April 1917 (newspaper article very poor) on the 17th April he suffered internal injuries from a accident at the mine and died 20th April 1917. Anyway, as he is recorded in an official casualty list issued by the War Office as having died, he can stay in my database.

All soldiers who fought in WW1 deserve to have their name commemorated and their story told Mary. Not too helpful at St. Helen's. I knew what I was looking for as I had 2 entries in my Newspaper index for Edward when he was wounded, lovely picture of him as well, I found his picture reporting him wounded 2 time but he is listed as being with the RWF (well with a name like Pritchard what do you expect) There are 2 papers that cover St. Helen's The St. Helen' Reporter and the St. Helen's something else, I looked in the Reporter and found his pic and the family acknowledgement and I looked in the other St. Helen's paper and found his inquest report. Saved myself £9.50 because Terry D said I would be reimbursed depending on his DC. Need to set a Committee up with these soldiers who are possible IFTC cases There is me and Amanda so far, as she does so much work on St James and Holy Trinity and I know the IFTC have funding for such cases but I could have been £9.50 out of pocket only I decided to go and find out about Edward Pritchard Anyone willing to get on board with me and Amanda.
