Herbert Lloyd HILL- Liverpool
Posted: 20 Aug 2012 14:17
Hello all,
this is my first post here but there are a few familiar names, for those of you I haven't met yet you can read about my project here: http://www.thewarmemorial.blogspot.co.uk
Here's one of the names that I need some help with, the only information I have is his name Bertie L HILL, the fact that he died during WW1 and that he or his family were parishioners of St James, Toxteth circa 1920.
I have looked through the BMD, census, medal cards and CWGC records and and have only found one person who has the middle initial of L and was from Liverpool. Herbert Lloyd HILL
I have census information for 1881-1901 and the CWGC record of his death as a merchant seaman. I do not have anything that connects him to the St James area of Liverpool though so I am hoping to find somebody who has him in their family tree who may know more about it.
Any thoughts gratefully received!
HILL, HERBERT LLOYD
Rank:Pantry Steward
Date of Death:19/08/1915
Age:34
Regiment/Service:Mercantile Marine
S.S. "Arabic" (Liverpool)
Panel Reference
MemorialTOWER HILL MEMORIAL
Additional Information:
Son of William Herbert and Mary Ann Hill, of 51, Phoebe Anne St., Everton, Lancs.
