Thank you very much, Bertie. That's very kind of you and it must be because of his age, I think.

Thank you

Hi Glenys,
Re:
I didn't know how you actually inserted them on to this forum.
For future reference....
Here's how to use Photobucket to put images on this forum...

1) If you are not already a Photobucket member click on http://photobucket.com/ or paste it into your browser and join the site. Photobucket is a free image hosting website.

2) Scan the relevant document in highest resolution you can manage. Make sure it is a reasonable size and is correctly orientated [not sideways or upside down!]. You should crop the image to show only the part that is being queried in the case of a name, date or signature. If you don't have a cropping utility there is one on the Photobucket site.

3) Follow the on-screen instruction to upload your scan image to the site. Save the image to your 'Album'. If you need to work on the image there is a Media Options box on the right of screen. Select the required option and don't forget to click Save when you have finished.

When you run the mouse over your finished image a short drop-down menu, Links to share this photo, will open on the right. Left-click on the Email & IM option in that menu. The URL box will turn yellow, with the word Copied.

4) Now go to the 'Post a reply' box on the forum topic or create a new Topic if necessary. Write your message then page down a line. Place the cursor at the left of the message window, right-click the mouse and select Paste. This will paste the URL you copied from Photobucket into your message. The image will not immediately appear. It comes up when you click Preview before you submit your message or click Submit to post the message.

Photobucket have been fiddling with their site and changed some of the options but I think the above should work. If it doesn't please tell me.

This is my great-grandfather and I've only found him when he got married and then upto 1901 census. So there's not much to write about him. I have a postcard that he sent home to his wife and one for his daughter, Sarah (my grandmother) to pass on to her husband who was also away on active service.

Wow, thank you again!!

I'd never thought to put Mr. Harrison in a search. I have is wife and son as visitors at my grandparent's house in Pemberton, Wigan and I couldn't understand where William would be. The only Williams I came up with were in Parr and Scunthorpe and didn't match up.

That's another problem solved.

Thank you so very much.

Good find Bert, pity the original page for 149 Albion Street isn't there - can anybody else come across it?

Mary,

the property is recorded as unoccupied, so was William elsewhere or just not enumerated at the property?

..... I see, I think. There is no index number next to it. I suspect we would only be guessing why then, if he was elsewhere you wouldn't think they would have his name on the Summary Page.
