UK NATIONAL SERVICE RECORDS

Post by babayaga321 »

Hi All...

I'm trying to confirm information I have regarding my uncle, William SEAMAN (b. 28/8/1934). At the time of my parents marriage in 1958 he is pictured in uniform, and I'm thinking that he might have been conscripted into National Service at that time.

I've been searching for online lists / records of these individuals, but cannot find any in all the usual sources.

Is anyone aware of any online records for N.S. which I can check? Or else the address/ contact details where I could writed off to please?

Cheers - Graham.

Hi Graham,

It's quite difficult finding online WWII records because of the recent date but are beginning to become more available. I believe the National Archives may be the only place, Bertie's link is a good one, don't forget if you manage to find anything on that site if it's downloadable at present they have lifted the charges, so now's the time to check.
