Daggers,

He's the chap I have been leaning towards, The 1901 Kirkdale census I thought may have been out of the area of interest, however, this is what I have on the family.

Charles Henderson Brown married Margaret Rankin, St Mary's Kirkdale, 1876.

Children born to the couple,
Jane Sidney, 1877
Elizabeth, 1880,
James George, 1883
Charles, 1891
Margaret, 1897

Charles Brown married Mary Elizabeth Bentley, image below, 1914

the 1911 census is a little bit confusing, mother recorded as Alice Brown, yet the children with her match the children in 1901, names and ages, Charles occupation at a Pawnbrokers match the marriage occupation, and father Charles occupation as Boilermaker, marriage cert matches the 1901 census.

Alice Brown, 109 Roxburgh St, RG14 P22384

Good to have your opinion again. I shall mark this as 'probable', and after attending a funeral I will turn to Smith, E who may be more of a problem.
