Hi you lovely genies. Do you know when FMP will be updating their closed records. I know some are open up to 1991 and how long before the 100th birthday is passed does the record open automatically. yappie

So far as I'm aware it's an ongoing project, updating some from the death register and obviously the next year onwards. I don't think it can be an automatic process.

Funny you should ask that question yappie.
I was looking today at my old records on FMP, haven't got a sub. Obviously in 2016 they had a free session, so I'd done a few searches.
1939 Register had a few saved records and one was a closed record which has now been opened, hence my post about written additions.
I can't find a death for my now opened record, so another little digging around to do now
Cheers
Erika

Hi
As far as I am aware FMP update the closed records on a regular basis by running them using a computer programme against death registrations. Records can also be opened by subscribers who submit a death certificate for an individual.
I do not have any connection with Find My Past.

Thank you so much MaryA, Erica and Scotchmer for your help. I have an aunt who turned 100 in January and hoped her record would now be open. I have all her details - birth, marriages, death and burial dates but would like to know where she was in 1939. According to family she was with them in Bootle but there are 5 closed records. yappie
