Find my Past

Please can some one answer my question.
I use roots magic to store my info. I have never published any tree on line. When I opened Roots magic today there were light bulb icons by most of the names on my tree. This means that there is a link with a family tree on FMP. I wondered if any one could tell me who put it on. If it is someone I have not a connexion with I will rejoin for a period. But if it is some one I gave the info to, then that would be a waste. Please check Alexander Fletcher b 12 June 1876 at West Derby , Liverpool. It even lists me and I think I am still alive :)

I can't figure out how to do it Lynne, as I've rarely used the tree on FMP. I don't find FMP to be as "social" as Ancestry and have never had contact with anybody on there.

This is in the FAQ.

"Can I search other trees on Findmypast and share mine with other people?

Answer:

Your tree can be shared with other registered users of Findmypast. You can do this when looking at your own tree and by sharing the URL in the address bar of your browser. It can only be viewed by another Findmypast user who is signed into their account.

Your family tree has privacy controls that you can use to prevent it being shared or made public for other people to see this content if you wish. To ensure the content remains private, go to the “Tree settings” option in your Family Tree and un-tick the "Public tree” box."

Can you just sign up for a 14 day trial?

I'm afraid it's not as user friendly to view somebody else's tree as Ancestry is, I can't figure it out either :(

Oh well I will see if they will give me a 14 day trial, even though I've only just left.
Thanks for trying :)
