Absolutely!

I'll reserve judgment until it arrives. It could be good if they actually name the films with the names of the churches.
It wasn't until FMP had a Shropshire registers on their site that I discovered which church in Oswestry my grandmother was christened in. Family Search just says Oswestry. Mind you when I asked them which church it was some years ago they told me it was in New York!

Agreed, most annoying when it just says Liverpool when we had hundreds of churches but not so bad in a small village.

Well this is strange. I just went to the site and found a record and clicked on the camera icon, that then said I would go offsite to "visit partner site" for which fees would be applicable, the link is to Find My Past.
I knew it was too good to be true!!!

Well it did work and took me to a parish register as I have a subscription to FMP. For those that don't though this might force their hand if they want to view actual registers and not just transcriptions.
It's still cheaper than buying every certificate at £9.25 I suppose.

You have all probably seen this site
Lancashire OnLine Parish Clerk Project.
I have found this a great place for BDM and it's free.

Many of those links to FMP have been there for a number of years, they are not connected with the new project they have.

Thanks for the reminder, this site has always been good, especially for the Liverpool area and is often updated.

Thank Heavens for that and thank you MaryA

Well it's not quite what I had hoped for.......
I can't see any camera icons (image) for Liverpool yet, so chose a few records at random to see what happens:
UNITED KINGDOM, WORLD WAR I SERVICE RECORDS, 1914-1920
This image is available:
When using the site at a FamilySearch Center.
To signed-in members of supporting organizations.
ENGLAND AND WALES CENSUS, 1841
The image is viewable at findmypast. By clicking here you will be leaving FamilySearch.org. (fees and other terms may apply)
Visit Partner Site
ENGLAND AND WALES NON-CONFORMIST RECORD INDEXES (RG4-8), 1588-1977
The image is viewable at thegenealogist.co.uk. By clicking here you will be leaving FamilySearch.org. (fees and other terms may apply)
Visit Partner Site
I have seen some are free to view for Derbyshire and that's about all after an hour of browsing on this site. I think it's going to be a bit hit and miss dependent on where your interests lie.

It would have been helpful if they had given a list.
As this is now older news - and also nobody thinks terribly highly of it, I'll move this post to Off Topic, discussions can continue.

I've had some success today but it's causing me a bit of a headache as I am not a techie

.
I went on my works tablet today and looked at some records for the Isle of Man and I could see an actual image, so when I clicked on it YES SUCCESS I managed to look at some baptism and marriage parish registers.
However I don't do well with the tablet and much prefer my laptop but when I came to look at the same records it shows the camera icon but says no image available.
I have written on the blog from the OP to ask if I need to download some kind of reader app or something but the post is awaiting moderation.
I did manage to save one marriage record and send it to my email address as an attachment so I can upload it to my tree.
Any techies out there?

The Isle of Man parish record images have been on there a while. They've only really changed the way they are viewed on the site and the functionality. You should be able to view the document and then download it using pc. I didn't need anything for my pc. There seems to be access problems at the moment for me using the iPhone so maybe there's some general access issues affecting the site.

Well it looks like it must have been a blip as now I can see this on my laptop whereas earlier it was the camera icon with the usual "no image" so it's back to it now!!

If you go to the page for the Isle of Man Collection and choose to "View all 6 Collections"
https://familysearch.org/search/collect ... sle+of+Man
You will see this list
BillionGraves Index 57 09 Nov 2015
Find A Grave Index 760 16 Nov 2014
Isle of Man Births and Baptisms, 1607-1910 224,076 12 Mar 2012
Isle of Man Deaths and Burials, 1844-1918 42,389 06 Apr 2010
Isle of Man Marriages, 1606–1911 42,671 09 Mar 2012
Isle of Man Parish Registers, 1598-2009 447,486 09 Oct 2015
The top two and bottom entry all have a camera icon next to them, the middle ones don't.
At the bottom of the page there is a link to "Browse through 44,050 images" or alternatively I searched marriages with just one year without putting in a name and each entry had a camera icon beside it and opened the image.
Perhaps your searches were directing you to the middle three databases without images.

Thanks for looking MaryA, but I do believe I was looking at the exact same image as I brought the tablet home with me to check as I thought I was going nuts lol.

I can see the bottom one has only been available since October 2015.
It doesn't matter now as I found the marriage I was looking for and now I know these images are there to look at I have another resource to use as I dig deeper into the Kelly's. I didn't realise these were available for free, mind you I've not used it for many years until just recently and have mainly been centred on Liverpool so not found any images for there yet.
According to a google the parish registers for the Isle of Man on the IGI are almost complete with just a few gaps so that's good to know. Now I just have to get my head around these odd sounding place names.

Thanks Blue for solving my mystery last night!! It would have helped if I remembered this post I started months ago lol.
