Ancestry Family Tree Printout

I wonder if any of the forum can help me with a problem.
I am trying to print out my family tree to give to a relative. The tree has been constructed on the Ancestry site of which I am a member.
The site will allow me to print out portions of the tree but this means that large portions of the printout overlap when I adjust to the branches I want to print out.
Is there any way I can print out the tree in one operation? Please be gentle with me as I am no computer expert.
Thanking you all with fingers crossed.
Gareth.

Good luck Gareth, I have a feeling most of us don't put our tree online so not sure how much hints we will come up with as we lack that experience.

Hi Gareth,
I don't use Ancestry but do know that if I want to print my family tree [200+ families and 650+ names] from my PAF program it will be something like 15 A4 pages wide and 10 A4 pages deep!
One option you could consider is to try and get the tree onto a DVD and take it to a printer to transfer onto a large format sheet for you. A friend of mine did that for a family reunion and his tree was on a 1 metre square sheet.

Hi Gareth
I'm presuming you are using the printer friendly button which opens the tree into A4 pages and then your trying to print further generations it duplicates some individuals? I have had a look and I can't see an option of opening whole tree then printing that off, but as dickiesam says depending on how many people you have on your tree could be printing out a lot which is probably why they may not have that option, I did think they used to.
Have tried various ways but I think that you will have to put up with certain individuals being duplicated every time you extend the tree backwards.
You could always share your ancestry tree with your family members if they have an e-mail address
people you invite can see your tree for free. You can find this on the Tree Sharing Settings page.
The other option is to get a specific program for printing out trees that will print out what you need or again as Dickiesam mentions you can take on disc to a printers to print out for you on larger paper than A4!! There are programs to buy as well as downloads have a look on the Books and Software section for various peoples perferred choices.
Hope this has helped a little!
Kathryn
