May have been mentioned before but this may be of interest to anyone learning about relatively recent history in relation to the 'forced' emigration of children, particularly to Australia in the 1950s to the 1970s.

I have just watched a film called Oranges and Sunshine, a true story of one woman's quest for 'justice' on behalf of thousands of children, many literally torn from their parents by the Social Services of the time, and who were deposited in dreadful conditions on the other side of the world. In doing so she took the lid off the secret scandal that had been covered up for years.

I'm sure the BBC did a film on the subject a while back. If memory serves, it was about 3 siblings who were sent over. Very moving film.

The Leaving of Liverpool - a very powerful film. I think it was shown in two parts.
