They have left it a bit late to send me an email about this, but there is still the one day left.
From Saturday 2 August 2014, through the official centenary on Monday 4 August 2014, we're offering everyone three days as a Friend of Lives of the First World War for free. Your voucher gives you three days of premium access starting as soon as you redeem it, and it can be redeemed any time up to midnight (UK time) on 4 August.
Sign in at the login page then go to the Voucher Redeem page and enter the code i6sc0eye
As well as your free access to upload photos, connect external links and add your personal stories, being a Friend gives you:
• Unlimited access to official records like army service records, census returns, birth records and more
• Access to create and manage Communities, a way to bring together the Life Stories of people who shared an experience

Re: Lives of the First World War
Talk about skin of the teeth! I'm in as well although I have no great hopes of finding anything on my g.father. Previous searches have turned up nothing but he was there and was blinded in one eye when his unit was gassed.

To be honest those I've checked out so far have details ONLY of the medal cards - which of course I already had.
