I've just got photos of the giants in Liverpool this weekend. I wish I could have been there. Did anyone go?

I didn't go, the wife and her friend who's holidaying with us did and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not in to puppets, though I remember the Woodentops with fondness, Spotty Dog being my favourite.

Mrs Bert took some cracking photographs,

Bob & I went on Friday and thoroughly enjoyed the day although we didn't see any of the interaction bits just the Giants parading through the city. It was a wonderful atmosphere like a carnival and Liverpool should be very proud of being able to put on such an event. Many other towns and cities would have just used the excuse that they couldn't shut the roads and not seen the benefits on bringing some many people into the area. I was going to add some photos but can't see how to.

Fab photo there, Bert. :D

I didn't go - I find them a bit creepy, to be honest. They are very spectacular, though, and I think the city does well out of them.

They are coming to Western Australia to commemorate 100 years since the ANZACS left for WW1 from the south west port of Albany. The town won't know what's hit it, people will come for miles to see this event.
I'll keep you posted.

For anyone who didn't see them, there's a programme about them on Tuesday on BBC One at 7pm. For those outside the north west, it can be seen on Sky channel 958 or on the iplayer.
