Looking for someone alive

Hi There,
I have tracked down a descendant of my great grandmother that I'd like to contact.
I know his name and that of his wife and know roughly where they live.
I've tried online searches on social media and telephone directories but no contact yet.
Is there anyone on here with access to the current electoral rolls ?
Cheers
Paul

Hello Paul,
You would have to go to the library local to where the descendent lives. An alternative is to use one of the online sites that offer current ER access. My personal favourite is
http://tracegenie.com/
For this site instead of buying credits to view results you buy access time. For £3.50 you can buy 24 hours access, in other words from say 6 PM tonight to 6 PM tomorrow night. And the site has an 'birth year decade' filter to reduce hits. I think the current ER range is from 2004 to 2014.
Good luck and let us know if you have success.
Edited to add: Remember that from 2008 eligible electors had the option of having their names excluded from the commercial editions of the Rolls sold on to sites such as TraceGenie, so if you don't get a hit they may have opted out. The site also offers a full trace service...

If you have a few credits for Findmypast they have Electoral Registers this side of 2000, but of course it does depend on whether they have opted out of having their details published. Some libraries have FMP available freely as well as Ancestry.

Thanks again for the advice.
I'll take a look as soon as I get some time
