Liverpool visit 11/8/13

Post by marilib13 »

Hi there,

Last year I came down to Liverpool to use the computers in the Library. I didn't realise I couldn't use your computers as they were being available for the Hillsborough families. Luckily I was referred to Museum building where you had set up Microfiches I could use. I managed to find some info on my family. My Brother and I are coming down from Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, to use your computers in your new Family History section. I wonder if the girl who helped us so much would be the same one who is helping on a Tuesday? We'll be arriving on Monday and will definitely be there on Tuesday 12th August.
Can't wait. Just one thing, will I be better booking a computer before we come down?Marilib.

I hope you have a wonderful trip to Liverpool. There are a group of volunteers who host the Help Desk at the Liverpool Record Office on Tuesday afternoons 1.30 pm - 4.00 pm.

Could I suggest that you investigate whether you are able to get free access to Ancestry.com and Findmypast at your own local library as you are able to do in English libraries, that way you might be able to do some preliminary research to save yourself some time while you are here, you may want to spend more of your time in the Library searching microfilms etc. that wouldn't be available to you at home.
