There has to be a logical explanation for your problem and it has to be at your receiving end. I think it could well be the way your current browser is 'reading' the incoming data.

Before you 'retire' from the forum in frustration I suggest you download and try another browser. If you are on either IE or Chrome, download Firefox. You won't lose any bookmarks or history if you decided to switch permanently, because your new browser, whatever it is, will have the facility to 'import' settings etc. And there would be no need to remove the previous browser until you were totally happy with the replacement.

And there are several very good browsers besides IE, Chrome etc.

I wish.. D.S. It all started a while back when I had probs signing in & changed my password. I've just changed it again in the hope that all would be well.
have tried I'net Explorer, Chrome & Firefox. all well until I sign in. Must be me:(

Unless I take a snip of the board index first, I cannot tell when a post was made. & cannot stay logged in. Have been a silent visitor lately for that reason.

Perhaps I'll stay a spirit member in the background until some-thing brings me out of my space again.

Most odd! If the problem is a gremlin in the Forum database that is interfering with your reception of data once you have logged in, I wonder if a Administrator could put your your current log-in and personal info including screen name in limbo and arrange for you to be able do a new sign-up as if you were a new member with a new screen name and password?

In other words maybe 'cancel' your existing membership and transfer your sub to a completely new sign-up? The Forum database and server would then only 'see' you as a new subscriber.

Having tried all three browsers, and I know you have cleared your caches I don't know what else to suggest except what Dickiesam has said above.

If you wish to make a new login, send me an email when you register so that I know it's you and we can take it from there.

Another suggestion is that I wonder if you have tried to log in on another computer, perhaps at your local library?

Would hate for you not to be a regular member Wendy.

Nice idea DS even tho' it sounds like passing my problem to some-one else.
Mary Ann I'd hate to be a non combatant too, am not able to get to Library very often so that's a non starter. I'll ask my son or Hubby to try it on their computers before doing anything else to see if they have same block.

I managed to get straight in this time which is good for cold digits.

Hi Wendy,
When you try the 'new approach' you may get a message to say your email address is already on the database and the 'system' may get sniffy about accepting you as a newbie. If that happens I suggest you set up a secondary email account using Gmail which is a far more secure provider than Yahoo or Hotmail. I understand that well over 70% of all hijacked email accounts have been hosted by just those two providers.
