Are you Next of Kin to a veteran of WWII

If you are next of kin to somebody who would qualify for an Arctic Star medal or Bomber Command clasp - this recognition was only announced in December - you should be able to claim the medal.

Thanks Mary, I believe my grandfather served in the Arctic convoys and as I have his medals and papers I'm going to apply for his arctic star. He died 7 years ago but I spent a lot of time listening to his stories and he never forgot the freezing cold, having to smash the ice off the ship with hammers to stop it rolling over due to the weight and getting his trousers back from the laundry frozen solid... this last one may have been a story to amuse me!

I didn't realise that the new medal was going to be available for next-of-kin so thanks again :D
