Papist Returns

Has anyone used the Papist Returns for 1767? I can't find an online search for it but there appears to be a book by ES Worrall. I have some RCs who lived on the fringes of Liverpool around this time ie Allerton, Childwall, West Derby, Gillmoss, Croxteth areas. The 1767 returns are supposed to include names.

Thanks yes I had already looked at that website. I wonder if Central Library has a copy of the book that might be the best way to access the records.

The Papist Returns transcriptions by ES Worrall are available to view in book form without appointment at Central Library. They are reference books so can't be taken out. They are an excellent census substitute I'm surprised that they haven't been made available on Family Search or Ancestry.

It was a bit tricky finding them in the library if anyone needs directions let me know. They're in the Picton room up one of the narrow staircases. There are two slim green coloured volumes for "Chester" and "except Chester". Lancashire is in the Chester volume.

The information does consist of full names, usually all the family members, there are ages, occupations, sometimes how long they've lived there and sometimes where they came from. There are some addresses included ie some for town people. Returns are grouped by district ie Liverpool, West Derby etc.
