Where was this Beatle/Quarrymen venue?

Hi Guys,

I know that the Beatles played the Pavilion in Lodge Lane but records also state that one of their earliest performances was at the Aintree Pavilion. However, I can't find any trace of this venue. It could of course be that there is confusion with the Lodge Lane venue., with them both sharing a similar name.

Any help in solving this would be much appreciated.

Regards
Frank

Wikipedia lists an early venue played more than once as the Aintree Institute - any use?

Hi Hilary,

It is possible that they were one and the same place! By the way, when was the Aintree Institute /Blessed Sacrament building demolished?

Cheers
Frank

Within recent memory, can't date exactly I'm afraid but definitely since 1980.

It was apparently demolished in 2006 (I google it) and there's even a video on youtube

The Beatles played at the Aintree Institute many times, in their early days.
