Execution of a shirker ?
Hi...I'm saddened after watching the Village BBC1 last night...I never knew that shirkers as they were called ? were made to wear the army uniform...((even though they had refused to sign up))... and then shot....Did this happen all the time during world war 1? I just think it was so sad and such a waste of a life.

I have come across newspaper reports of Shirkers and those oppsed to killing people and they were sentanced to death but many were just jailed.
