Good weekend. One complaint.

Every year on a Saturday after the end of the show, all those who are Exhibiting are invited to the lounge for a glass of wine or two and questions can be asked by those exhibiting to those who organise this Show. Not this year!. I did a little tour asking about the question and answer session and it appears. Those who are Commercial Exhibitors where invited to a slap up meal at the Hilton Courtesy of Ancestry/Findmypast. None of the FHS were invited. I found out that someone had been going around with bottles of wine for the Exhibitors, so little ole me went to ask why our Stand did not get one and apparently it was only one bottle of wine per Exhibitor! well the NWG FHS had 3 tables, how can you share 1 bottle of wine with 15 volunteers, and the highlight of the weekend is grilling the Organisers. Ooomph WDYTYA indeed. Thanks to Steve and Jennifer who gave me their bottle of red because they had 2!

Very bad form indeed!
I trust each of the FHS committees will be writing to the organisers about that obvious faux pas? As you say, without the FHS there would be no show worth attending.

I'd have thought those two commercial exhibitors had enough lauding & freebies already. so glad I'm not able to be there to enrich them further. How they must chuckle over the little people & their willingness to hand over a dollar/pound or two.

From my memory it's been the FHS in all places who began storing & saving historical docs etc for the benefit of all.
