Cuba Missile Crisis Oct/ Nov 1962

I marched down Church Street in autumn 1962 with hundreds of other terrified people, under banners saying "No War over Cuba." My diary for the year was so occupied with my love life that I did not record my first ever political action where I may have had my name taken! Can anyone remember when it was? I am writing my life history for future generations of my family (They may not be grateful, but I wish my grandparents had written theirs). KWR's Mrs.

Thanks for that. I think it would have taken longer than the 16thOct for the CND or Students' Union or whoever to get a demo organised. It was not spontaneous. The crisis lasted a fortnight from the 15th when people more politically aware than I was would have started to get seriously worried. I imagine it would have been nearer the end of October or even a couple of days into November
