Thanks for that. So that's St Helens and Liverpool out of action!

Liverpool isn't out of action at all, just temporarily relocated next door to the World Museum. Any documents also relocated to Sandhills, temporarily, but everything is still available.

It seems it's just for a few weeks. Found this on the council website
St.Helens Local History and Archives Library will be closed for several weeks from Monday, April 16 so a major refit can be carried out.
The facility is based in the Central Library, Victoria Square, but will be moving to better accommodation within the building on the site where the Godfrey Pilkington Gallery used to be.
The room is being refurbished and new – state of the art equipment installed for a better easy to access service.
There will be no access to the archives for the duration of the closure. However Ancestry.com and Find My Past website can both be accessed at any library in St Helens during the shut down period.

Thanks for that info. Sounds like it's going to be good. It's surprising in the light of all the cuts, esp to libraries.
