im trying to do my family tree and finding it a hard one as to me not having much infomation at all any info that i could get would be much appriciated and am i right in the thinking that this site isnt used to find living relatives if so witch site do you reccomend i should use thanks julie

We are a genealogy forum and so interested in research for ancestors rather than descendants, but as you know from details you have already been given, we will also try to help behind the scenes.

I believe you were given some information regarding this marriage by private message, and also the possibility of a child to the marriage.

Firstly you need to know for certain if this Kathleen is the relative you are interested in and not another Kathleen, so if you don't know from family knowledge that she married this man then you will need to obtain the marriage certificate to be sure of her father's name.

We have also tried to put together a few hints to help anybody trying to find living relatives - see this post. An advert in a local newspaper often proves useful and if you were to go along this line perhaps the Southport Visiter might cover the area involved.

Because of concern over privacy issues I am not aware of any forums that deal with searching for living people with information posted online. Many 'local' newspapers carry a section in their advertising dedicated to the theme "Where are they now". And simply Googling 'looking for lost relatives' will give many hits, but be aware that genealogy forums are not the place for seeking the living.

thank you for the post i shall just have to be careful not to postanymore info about living relatives we live and learn lol
