Irish walls falling!!

Post by Barbara B »

Just had to tell someone/ everyone that the cracks are appearing in my Irish brick walls. In the last couple of weeks I've found my paternal great grandparents AND my paternal grandmother's family in the 1901/11 censuses. Better than that I've made contact with a second cousin whose mother remembers my grandmother and who was my aunt's best friend. Don't know whether to laugh or cry!
Just goes to show they're all out there somewhere.
Cheers from frozen France

Well done Barbara, very difficult when researching Ireland so you have done brilliantly, great to have made some new contacts.

Thanks Mary
Just spoken to my aunts who were delighted to be back in contact with their Irish relatives. Hope they're going to get in touch soon.

:D Its a great feeling isn't BarbaraB even if we only manage to dislodge only one brick - at least it means we catch a glimpse of whats on the other side. O for a sledgehammer

Thanks for the good wishes Yappie and Tina.
It does make all the frustration worth it (well nearly!)
I'm so pleased for my aunts as well particularly as one of them - aged 90 - has just had a hip replacement after a fall.
Still frozen in France

Well done Barbara. Very pleased for you.
Please tell your aunt she shouldn't be playing rugby on a frozen pitch! :D

Thanks DS. I wouldn't put it past her - she's tougher than the wimps in Paris!
