Forum changes
I thought my PC had gone mad this morning when I opened the Forum. I tried twice before realising the site had changed. It'll take a bit of getting used too!

Re: Forum changes
I posted my above post. It appeared but then I couldn't get back to the main page of the forum. No doubt there is a way but in the end I had to open the whole website again and then the forum and start again. No doubt there is an easy way for us non 21st century PC people!!

Re: Forum changes
When I tried to return to a previous page my computer said the web page had expired - I know how it feels! Takes a bit of getting used to but I'm sure after a while we won't notice the difference...

Just click on Board Index at the top left hand corner of the page and you get back to the main page again

Re: Forum changes
Well I don't have the page bookmarked and still used to type in the old address, so when I tried it there was nothing there - was that even more of a shock?
Anyway, look at the top of your message - ie the heading "Forum Changes" and there is the same line just above it that used to be there -
Board index>> The New "Not Genealogy">>Off Topic.
Clicking on the "Board Index" takes you back to the main page, just as it used to do. I like the new feel of things, but still getting to find my way around, I don't suppose it will take too long.

Re: Forum changes
Sorry people - It took me two days to transfer all the data from one site to this one - I should have warned people but [slapped wrists] didn't.
I hope you all get used to the new forum quickly - it allows us a lot more control

Re: Forum changes
This is my fault. We used to have sub boards with those names, however people often sort of guessed which board to post on and many items were listed under the incorrect geographical area.
I did ask for opinions before I merged them and thought that one board for the area of the West Derby Hundred would work better, and then the other could be for those members who still wanted our help but not necessarily in this area, or possibly more vaguely connected to family history.
