Just curious... a message in your Outbox goes into the Sentbox when read, if it is never read will it just stay there indefinitely or eventually move
Thanks

Hi Simone,
As far as I know an unread PM will simply stay in your Outbox until the recipient opens the message or you delete it. I've had a PM sit in my Outbox, on another forum, for over 3 months. Perhaps the person I sent it to hadn't ticked the 'I want to be notified of PMs' box in their Profile?

DS is right. I have about four messages in my Outbox, I think the people I write to don't want to hear from me

Ah no MaryA, that can't be the case. It has to be in their Profile... They haven't ticked the box 'Notify on new Private Message'.
But can't an Administrator access their full Profile and send a message to their email address to say there are PMs that are 'overdue' for viewing and they will be deleted if not read within X days? Just a thought..

Ahh as I thought..thanks I don't have any in my Outbox, I was just surprised that someone must have read one.. and then not even acknowledged that time I spent trying to help or perhaps I shouldn't be surprised was thinking maybe it had moved over after a certain time anyway.....

I'm sorry you have gone to so much trouble Simone, it's the same on the boards as in the messageboxes, sometimes people just don't acknowledge the help you give, and I know you do a lot.
