OK Tina, you told us one of yours... Now it's my turn!

A very good mate of mine when I was out in the Canal Zone went on R&R to a 'leave' camp outside Famagusta in Cyprus for two weeks. It was a place where there was no regimentation, your time there was entirely your own. He met up with a couple of new buddies and went down to Fama-G looking for a drink and some fun. His new mates eventually discovered he was indeed a 'virgin soldier' and decided to change that state.

They headed for the off-limits red light district and selected a house. After about a ten minute wait, with a glass of beer, he was ushered upstairs while his mates waited for him. Eventually he came back down grinning from ear to ear! Apparently the usual charge for the 'basic service' was a quid. He said, because he had 'fumbled' a bit, the young lady asked if he was a 'first time Johnnie'? When he said yes, she gave him 10 bob back and asked him to call again!

These postings have prompted me to pay my subs

Glad you're feeling better MaryA - x

Talking of Malta - my Dad was stationed there as M.P during WW2 in charge of the wayward lads visiting the beautiful young ladies of Malta! One of the girls taught him a song in Maltese which I have but havent got the courage to get it translated! Ignorance is bliss !!

Keep it that way Holly!
D.S love the story! and ten bob change, bargain...
I was posted to Yeovil, first Sat night out with the girls we met the lads
from the Fleet Air Arm stationed at Yeovilton. I was given 2 glasses of scrumpy, then
danced the Fandago or some such, in stilleto's on the table, then collapsed
and spent the rest of the evening under it.
My mates gathered around me to get me past the Gate House when I burst into
song " Ferry 'cross the Mersey", yes they gagged me quick fast.
I was not at church parade the next morning....never drunk a glass of cider since.
