Liverpool Central Library
The Liverpool Archives and Family History Department is now open in the newly refurbished Liverpool Central Library. Situated on the 3rd Floor, William Brown Street, Liverpool. There are toilet facilities and lockers available on the 3rd Floor. Refreshments can be purchased on the Ground floor.

The Search Room
The Search Room in Central Library is available to consult original archives and books by appointment only. We require at least one full working day’s notice, a list of items needed and reference numbers which can be obtained from the online catalogues.
Items are collected at the end of each session and there is a limit of the number of items you can view.
Bookings may be made for a morning session, an afternoon session, or all day.

Monday and Tuesday 9.30am to 6pm
Wednesday 9.30am to 8pm
Thursday and Friday 9.30am to 6pm
Saturday 9.30am to 5pm
There are 6 reserved places and 2 unreserved places.
Additional material is available in microfilm or microfiche format. Microfilm viewers are available. You can also use our computers to search 'Ancestry' and 'Find My Past' websites for free. All research facilities are open during normal Central opening hours.
You will not have to pre-book the Microfilm/reader Printers readers or Fiche Readers.

I've been down to have a look it's very spacious. They have got FMP but no newspapers included on their FMP sub. I think they used to be included. They've got Ancestry as it was. For the Digital Library go into Onelogue I think it's called. When logging on there just put in your number don't put in the L or the V or the P prefix letters.
