St Mary's Walton on The Hill opening times

Hi, I was passing the church yesterday and thought I would have a wander around the graveyard, as several of my relatives are buried there, albeit a long time ago! However, every gate was locked. I have had a Google but cannot see any opening times.

Does anyone know when it is normally open to wander outside?

I think because of the vandalism over recent years they keep it closed except at service times, and even then I doubt the side areas would be available.

If you can hang on until Heritage week they usually have an open day, often with a trip up the tower open and documents available both in the church and in the school next door, and whoever is showing visitors around may have access to the other areas which are very badly overgrown and not easy to access.

The church will be open with displays about our history. Weather permitting the tower will also be open with views over Liverpool, and if the conditions are right, as far as Blackpool Tower! On the Sunday we will be having an afternoon tea in the churchyard too.
Saturday 10am till 4pm.
Sunday 1pm till 4pm.
