Hi all, my maternal great grandparents were married in Fylde in 1901, and I have volume and page info from FreeBMD. I thought the details might be in the Lancs OPC site, but can find no mention of the marriage on there at all, and the other usual sites just give the quarter, year and names.
I'm trying to get a bit more info on my great grandmother.
Catherine Traynor (Treanor on some sites) who was born approx 1870 in Dundalk. I have looked on rootsireland.ie and irishgenealogy.ie hoping to get info on her parents and a bit more concrete evidence on her.
My great grandfather was Dennis Keeley from Fylde. I'm wondering whether or not Crosby library would have copy transcripts, or would I have to go to Preston to the archives to see or obtain a copy of the marriage certificate?
Thanks

Re: Fylde marriage
The marriage certificate will give Catherine's father's name which may help find her in the Irish records.
Re: Fylde marriage
I'm afraid that you would, Fylde being the northern end of Lancashire rather than the South West which is what Crosby would hold.JohnnyO wrote: I'm wondering whether or not Crosby library would have copy transcripts, or would I have to go to Preston to the archives to see or obtain a copy of the marriage certificate?

Re: Fylde marriage
Thanks for the help. I have the BMD reference for Old Fylde registry office and marriage was registered in Blackpool. I'll order a certificate online from Blackpool council for £10.
Thanks for the advice. It would cost a lot more to get to Preston in fuel etc

Re: Fylde marriage
Lancs BMD says, "TRAYNOR Catherine KEELEY Dennis Old Fylde Register Office or Registrar Attended Blackpool" it's therefore either a registry office marriage that can only be obtained by ordering the certificate or an RC marriage that might be at Preston.

Re: Fylde marriage
Thanks for the help folks. I had already ordered the certificate from Blackpool council. I had seen the gro site but the Blackpool site seemed easier to fill in!
I keep forgetting about the Lancs BMD, its a really useful site and I'm using it to cross reference with my tree
