Georgeanna A Maine...is my gt grandmothers sister

Heres what I have...born 1835 in Co Armagh her father gunner Royal Artillery
I have her on the 1851 census in the Woolwich Barracks with the family. Also the family on all subsequent census.

Then in 1861 she is a housemaid on a large farm in Market Bosworth..parish Odstone district Ibstock.
She then seems to disappear of the face of the earth :? ...searched census, deaths marriages etc all without success..There is one death on fbmd in 1929 for a Georgeanna Mann age 84 so this would fit her age ?

Perhaps an eagle eyed crew member may see something I have missed.

Thanks Ann :)

Hi peeps, I hope this helps, in 1861 father James bn England is 56 Chelsea Pensioner, wife Margaret bn Chatham Kent (1851 bn Ire), 2 girls from 1851 are there Mary Ann 14, Emily Louisa 12 both bn Woolwich.
Her brother Francis F (Falgate according to his baptism 1842 Woolwich) is a gunner in the Royal Artillery 1861 at Woolwich aged 21yrs.
Other sibs Albert V & Wm Geo are in the census.
So, we look for Georgie with assorted 1st names?
Daisycakes, the death you mentioned, she would have been bn in 1845 not 1835.

G'day Tina.. Yes your right on all counts and I cant ..LOL...will rule that death out

That is the correct family have them on all the early and later census. But Georgeanna has become a bit of a brick wall ..I did wonder if she may have emigrated but no luck so far.

Thanks for looking Ann :)

Hi Ann, I don't blame you for not discounting the death, age is out, surname is Mann and she died in Suffolk, but where the heck is she??
I've tried marriages using her surname Maine/Main no first name, then the reverse variations on Georgina with no luck.
I wonder what her middle initial of A stands for?
Perhaps she used this?
I looked in Castle Garden for immigration, lots of Maine but nothing like her first name.
Sorry not to be of much help.

I've found Georgiana Mann bn 1845 Suffolk wife of Wm in 1891 census.
1901 as George Ann a member has put an alteration to Georgina.
I believe this is the lady whose death you have and don't believe she is your gt aunt.

Hi Tina....She's been my brick wall for a long time. My gt grandmother was Mary Ann ((Georgeanna's sister)) Maybe her middle initial of A was Ann :? ..will have a go at that.

Once again Thank you Ann :)
