Hi folks . does anyone know how to find out who lived at an address in 1940`s. trying to find out if a Susan Booth lived at 100 old chester road , Birkenhead in late 1940 to 1953 . and was this susan booth ( nee . susan casey ) can`t find a marriage , if it is the person I`m looking for she was alone when she died . if it is susan casey 1877 ( govan ,Scotland ) and she died as susan booth in b`head 1953. I need to find out if she lived at this address as it was found in some family papers . thanks .

She was listed there as Mrs Susan Booth in 1937/38 according to Kelly's Directory. You could try the electoral rolls for 1945 and onwards for later listings.


Blue

I think the only way is as Blue says, find the electoral register with her in and work backwards to find out when she arrived, or whether there was anybody else living in the house with her, perhaps earlier on you might find a husband also there.

Doing a search for a marriage in Scotland between 1877 and 2012 produces 1 hit,

William Booth married Susan Casey, 1906,

If William survived WW1 this could be him....

He did survive DS and I agree that will be him.
Likely he ended up in Lairds as a blacksmith, having served his apprenticeship in Scotland.

wow folks you have been busy ! I can`t believe what you have come up with in such a short time. can BERT translate the photobucket docs for me as I can`t make them out .
I will tell you all part of my family secret that you have proven by unearthing the link between this address and the marriage of susan to William booth . it now seems that a senior person in my tree had a daughter that none of the family knows about , quite a shock to me when this info was given to me I was quite shocked and not really convinced . but there are too many people connecting so I will have to live with the shock and a new branch of my family.
