Thomas Lewis New Bedford Mass USA

I'm doing a bit of research for my aunt and need a bit odf help from someone who can look up the USA census on Ancestry.

Thomas Lewis born 1881 Rishton Lancashire married Elizabeth Mercer in 1900. The 1901 census shows a son Joseph born in 1901 and I think they have a son Harold Gladstone born 1902. Both boys born Great Harwood.

By 1919 Thomas is definitely residing in New Bedford Mass as his mother Eleanor goes to that address in 1919 and in the same year his brother George goes to that address (information given on their passenger lists Ellis Island etc)

In Great Harwood Thomas is a cotton weaver.

I'd be grateful for any help with the census or Thomas and his family on passenger ists or anything. I have all the information I need for England it's the US bit I need!

Many thanks

That's wonderful! You're all great!

It's definitely them as on Eleanor's shipping record it states she was going to her son Thomas Lewis of 199 Shaw St New Bedford.

The bonus is Alfred who I'd lost.

Many many thanks Auntie will be thrilled.

Gosh Bert so quick!

Thomas and family going to Fred Mercer makes sense as Elizabeth was a Mercer.

The passenger list for Alfred is great definitely him. I'll have to ferret about his marriage as I had his wife as Maria!!

I've just found an old note from somewhere

George Lewis age 10 years 10 months with Alf Lewis on the Ivernia entering Boston on 11 May 1911 from Liverpool. The only George Lewis I know of should be 15 years. More thinking needed!!

Many thanks Bert

I know all about George Lewis's wife I was just puzzled by this possible child/friend with Alfred in 1911.

I'll have to try and find Alfred's marriage which I suspect took place in the USA.
