Victoria newspapers/electoral rolls etc help

The person I was going to look up under my electoral rolls question has suddenly popped up on a ship going to Australia with stepfather and mother. He was born in 1939 so is probably still alive so I don't want to give his name. His father died before he was born in a flying accident. I can see him on the Ancestry electoral rolls up to 1980 but wondering whether there is anyway to find anything later.
His mother was born in 1921 so again could still be alive but if anyone could point me towards newspapers etc I could maybe look for her and her husband who will be dead as he was born about 1905.
I'm helping a friend who did not know about this cousin and would love to know if he is still alive or has descendants. This cousin would appear to be the only remaining part of the family - it's a sad story.
