I would appreciate any help with trying to find this lady ....
Teresa Rebecca Lockwood was born in 1864 in Liverpool - father Robert Lockwood mother Alice Eustace - in 1884 Teresa married my gt grandfather William Henry Halsall in Birkenhead - they had a child Alice Elizabeth Halsall who was born in 1888 but sadly died in 1889. Teresa remarried to a Michael E Tramiseck (Tramsek) in 1893 in New Jersey USA and she is listed with him in the 1910 census in New Jersey ... I am unable to trace her after 1910 .... in 1920 Michael is living with an Elizabeth Tramsek and two boys John and Henry.
Thank you ...
Victoria

Hi,
RE:

How old are the children in 1920 and have you found births for them? Try to find out if they are Elizabeth's or Teresa's. Might narrow the time-line for Teresa's dropping out of sight.
Edit to add:
When Teresa married William Tramisek was she still a Halsall or had she reverted to Lockwood?

Hi,
RE:
Michel Tramsek 48, Austria - immigrated 1909; piano tuner
If this Michael only arrived in the US in 1909 he could not have married Teresa Lockwood in 1893. It looks as though the 1910 and the 1920 finds are different families and the 1910 family may have moved 'out-of-State' by 1920.

Hi
I think that the date entered is a mistake - his age varies a lot too - but the occupation does fit. I think that this is his arrival to the US:
Name: Mihal Tramisek
Departure Date: 20 Nov 1891
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1861
Age Year: 30
Gender: Mannlich (male)
Family: household members
Residence: Tuke, Osterreich
Occupation: Arbeiter
Ship Name: Furst Bismarck
Captain: Albers
Shipping Line: Hamburg-Amerikanische Packetfahrt-Actien-Gessellschaft
Ship Type: Dampfschiff
Accommodation: Zwischendeck
Ship Flag: Deutschland
Port of Departure: Hamburg
Port of Arrival: New York
Someone has kindly found Teresa and Michael in the Newark City Directors as follows:
"The 1914 Newark City Directory lists the name as Tramiseck, the 1915 directory lists the name as Tramsek and the 1916 directory says the family moved to East Orange.
there is no listing in the 1917 & 1920 directory but the name does appear in the 1922 directory. Unfortunately there is no occupation listed in the 1922 directory to make sure it's the same person.
The 1923 directory does show the occupation, (piano tuner). Michael does appear in the 1926, 1932, & 1940 directories. The 1940 lists his wife's name, Elizabeth. In all the directories there are no others with that surname listed."

That US Entry/Arrivals record:
Family: household members
Residence: Tuke, Osterreich
Occupation: Arbeiter
Does it imply he arrived with other family members? And his occupation is simply 'worker'. In German an 'arbeiter' could be translated as labourer. The memorable, for all the wrong reasons, 'motto' over the gates of concentration camps during WW2 was 'Arbiet Mach Frei'... a German phrase, literally meaning "Labour Makes
(you) Free.

Apologies for my doubts...
A bit of a problem for me is his age on arrival or did he fib. The other variations are acceptable.
1891 - Labourer [aged abt 30]
1900 - Carpenter [aged abt 32]
1910 - Piano polisher
[probably a French polisher] [aged abt 44]
1920 - Piano tuner [aged abt 48]
If the 1920 Michael is the same man as in 1910 we need to find a marriage for him and Elizabeth [with her 2 sons already]. Although I have to say I find it odd that a French polisher who had been a carpenter should become a piano tuner. But odder things have happened.

Michael Tramsek is listed just below the second photo! The article is dated 1914.
When they married 20 August 1893 - Michael's age is listed as 32 born 1861 in Austria. Teresa has also lost 5 years off her age too! She was born in 1864 but the marriage record states she was born in 1869!

the date on the census of 1909would have been his citizenship date rather than arrival date.
