No names here but I am trying to find out what happened to a lady born in 1922 in Reading who married a 22 year old RAF sergeant from Liverpool in 1944. I'll call her X. She is a missing piece in one of my family jigsaws!
Their story in brief: They had 2 children [bn Reading 1946 and Liverpool 1948]. In 1952 her husband enlisted in the New Zealand Air Force and emigrated. His wife and the children followed in 1953. The couple divorced in NZ in 1967/1968.
I had thought she might have returned to the UK but now know that in 1980 X became a naturalised NZ citizen under her married name. Her occupation at that time was 'clerk' and she was living in Auckland. Her husband died in 1990 and one of her sons in 1996 or 1997. Haven't been able to find the other son or what happened to X?
I know NZ records are quite difficult to access without 'personal visits' and 'reader's tickets' etc, so does anyone have ideas/suggestions to find out if X married again, died, or is still alive? And what happened to the surviving son [bn 1946] who I believe from ER records was still alive in 1980? Did he marry etc?
