John Redding - again!!

I have been attempting to knock through this wall for some time and have just come across some tantalising info in "Ireland, Births & Baptisms 1620 - 1911".
Searching for John Redding (my g grandfather), the info for George Redding with "Father - John" is thrown up.
But the tantalising info is that the location is "Durrow, Queens County" and the date of birth is 1825.
For info, "Durrow Green" is given as John Redding's place of birth on the England census of 1871.
The only trouble is that this would make my gg grandfather George, only 13 when he sired John!!.
John's age, on his marriage cert in 1860 is given as 22, which would give a birth date of 1838
Is this just beyond the realms of possibility??
Would the FHL film number is 990092 show anything further?
Comments / suggestions would be very welcome
Just to add further confusion, George's father's name is also given as John!!

Of course it is possible, there are 13 year old fathers nowadays, although most probably wouldn't admit it. However, not everything should be accepted as the whole truth, the date of birth could actually be the baptism date, an age given on a census could vary from year to year, so nothing is written in stone.
If you read the advice given about the Records it does recommend that you always check the original film to see what it says.
"Details in the entries vary depending on the original record, but they may include
•name
•birth date
•birthplace
•christening date
•gender
•father’s name
•mother’s name
•source information
Because this database includes details extracted from family records, researchers will want to confirm facts with original and primary sources."
Perhaps give the LDS centre a call to see if you can order the film to view,

Hello Mary,
Happy New Year
Must pop down to Ainsdale one Tuesday morning and pay my dues!!
The other thing - that I thought about having posted my poser was,
Could John have given a false age for his marriage in 1860 and also got away with it on entering the Board of Trade??
I will contact Chorley to see what is possible.
Thanks for your help
Redding in Queen's County

I remember the Durrow Green place of birth and John Redding. Queen's County is present-day County Laois. Passed through Durrow many times and there is a large Green there, aka the Square! Google Earth has a great street view of the Green from the R639 road. Look for 'Durrow, Ireland'. See you in the Castle Arms!
Found these 2 baptisms in the Laois records on the Irish Family History Foundation site at
http://www.rootsireland.ie/
Searched surname only, 1825 +/- 20 years!
Church Baptism: Redding, Margaret - 1822 - Co. Laois
Church Baptism: Redding, William - 1828 - Co. Laois
Would be of interest to find who the parents were, but access will cost 5 Euro per record [abt £4.50].

Using the same database that found George above, the only entries for Redding in Durrow, Queens, Ireland are
Thomas 14 Mar 1823 father John
George 4 Jun 1825 father John and
Jane abt 1835 father James

Thanks DS. I will add those to the possibles list as "maybe family"
Thanks also Mary. I got the George and Thomas entries, but missed the later one for Jane.
??Is James the brother of John?? I wonder!!

I think you mean you'll pop down to Birkdale to pay your dues!! You'll have to come on a Monday as the library hours changed in July and the help desk is on Monday.
