From Parish Records
I have Nicholas Smailes c1732 and he married Frances Hall in 1763 children
Thomas born 1764 Chester le street
Robert born 1766 Chester le street ((this is my husbands 4x gt grandfather))
Nicholas 1771 Chester le street
John 1775 Chester le street
Nicholas and John's parents are Nicholas and Frances Smiles
Theres my problem are these two Smiles boys really Smailes???
All of the above sourced Familysearch/Pilot and Bet...Any thoughts or ideas please....

It looks like the baptisms are for the same couple what I would do is consult the original register for Chester le Street and see if the fathers occupation corresponds with what you have on other documents you may have for the family
Hi Katie....Have just done a quick scroll through Bishops transcripts and Ye Ha the boys father Nicholas was on the baptisms as a Husbandman...Dont ya just love it when it comes together like that!!! I have been searching for those Smiles boys for some time and your advice re fathers occupation was spot on Now why didnt I think of that
Nicholas was spelled Smails and John was Smiles..
