Hello

I am trying to trace anyone who may descended from John Donovan (c1856) and Ann Daly (1860). All their children were born in the West Derby area between 1882 and 1893 and christened at St Oswalds. :) :)

Hi and welcome to the forum.

To assist anybody trying to help, the children, from Liverpool History Projects are

Ann Catherine 1892
Margaret 1890
Mary Ellen 1888
Thomas 1887
Veronica Josephine 1893

Perhaps you could give details from the censuses that you have them on, or is that what you are looking for?

Donovan family

Post by dickiesam »

Hello Paula and welcome,
What do you know already about the immediate descendants of John and Ann Donovan? Has MaryA found all the children and do you know if any of them married? For instance, I picked on Veronica Josephine because the name combination would be unusual.

FreeBMD did not show a death for her between 1893 and 1930 so I looked for a marriage. Found only one Veronica J between 1911, when she would have been 18, and 1935..
Marriages Sep 1915: Corbett, John J TO Donovan, Veronica J - Halifax - 9a - 1149.

Only the marriage cert would confirm if this is the correct Veronica. There appear to be 3 children from this marriage:
Births Mar 1916: Corbett, John C [Donovan] - Halifax - 9a - 659.
Births Jun 1917: Corbett, Mary C [Donovan] - Halifax - 9a - 611.
Births Dec 1919: Corbett, Daniel [Donovan] - Halifax - 9a - 695.

Have you located the family in any censuses especially the 1911 and is the above the sort of information you are looking for?
