Sadly we have to announce the passing away today of the Chairman of the Liverpool Group, Veronica Oldham.
Ronnie, or Ve has been a much valued member of our society and has been a great friend to all who knew her.
She will be missed by all her friends.

My very dear friend. The "Liverpool Brickwall busters" as we called ourselves on the Liverpool helpdesk. A bossy boots always bossing me around. She was the A of the A Team and I was the B we always worked together to help the many visitors solve their brickwalls as a team. She was still bossing me about and giving orders on Friday. A Truly dignified and brave lady and I am proud to have known her and been a part of her adopted family. (one of my adopted mums) Miss you Ron never got to see you today. All my love Kathy Donaldson

I'm sure many of our forum members who have been to see you all at the Help Desk in the Record Office will remember her with both affection and gratitude.
She did so much for our Branch of the Society, always had her finger on the pulse of what was going on in the genealogical world, both around Liverpool and online, and successfully helped with many puzzles and the proverbial "brick walls".
She transcribed the Gibsons Epitaphs almost single handedly, which many of us have found so useful to our research.
The photograph is Ronnie with the current Mayor when we handed over a copy of our project "Roots into Liverpool" to the Town Hall.

Although I never met Ronnie personally, I was aware of the remarkable work she has achieved over the years and was very sad to hear of her death.
May she rest in peace

Very sad to read this news I've only recently joined as a member of the society and noticed in the Liverpool Family Historian that Ronnie lived not far from me. Condolences to family and friends.
