Does anyone know if the Liverpool Record Office would have a baptism record from St Peter's Church, Sackville Street, Everton from 1940? This church was bombed and pulled down in 1942 but my Nan always said there wasn't much damage done to the church and they shouldn't have pulled it down. I'm hoping the baptism record for my Dad has survived.

The reference at Liverpool RO is 283 PTR, and the baptism you want should be there. There parish was later united with St Ambrose, and later still with others in the district.
You need to be aware of the closure of the RO - see the postings at the head of the opening page.

Huyton have the baptism records on MF for this church up to 1908 so I can only assume that these are in original records after this date. You will have to send a enquiry to get details of this baptism as the original records wont be available till October

Thanks for the info. I'll wait to access the registers at the record office in Liverpool. There's no rush for this I've got an inexpensive researcher in mind who could get me a copy of this record at some point if it's there.
