Hi, I'm trying to find information about my great great grandfather, Thomas Bell. He was married at St. James in 1852 to Eunice Taylor. I've gotten a reference number from the records office in Liverpool but I'm not sure the certificate would provide me with any new information.
Can anyone please help?

At the date you are interested in - 1852 - you will get the ages, addresses and occupations of both the bride and groom, both their father's names and occupations and also a couple of witness names who may be related. This is as much information as you would get from any marriage certificate post 1837 when civil registration began and must certainly be your next step in confirming the next generation back.

Hi,
Just to confirm you have the right one, this is the GRO reference you need for the marriage certificate.

From FreeBMD > Marriages Sep qtr 1852:
BELL, Thomas TO Taylor, Eunice > West Derby - 8b - 618.
