Would anyone happen to know which school an A Ratcliffe might have taught at? Am guessing it would be in Southport or Formby area in approximately 1924. She wrote a report about my grandma and would love to know which school she was attending at that time. She moved many times.
That's a really long shot! We could only take a guess I would suspect, based on whichever address she might have been living at the time. Can you let us have more information.

Without a lot more information it would be very difficult to say. Southport at that time as well as it's State schools had many private schools. Formby had less schools but still a number.
The only possibility I could think of would be to check a Southport directory for abround 1924 to see if there is a Ratcliffe listed as the head of a school.
The directories are with Local History Sefton North and are temporarily housed at formby Library as Southport library is closed for reburshment.
Thanks for that. My grandma moved around a lot and all I have is this report with the school name missing. We are trying to piece together her movements as a child and this was a tantalising clue. I will try the library though, that's a big help. Am nowhere near local and have to plan visits and enquiries very precisely so that's a good heads up. Thanks again
