Just had an email from www.thegenealogist.co.uk

At TheGenealogist.co.uk we want to provide you with the best family history site there is and to this aim, would like to include the 1911 census in our records. As the cost of a set of images is over 3 million pounds, it would need to be an additional service. We will be able to provide this if there is sufficient demand.

It will be interesting to compare their subscription with that of Findmypast's.

Presumably they would then have to index them etc as well so adding to the cost.

Whoever adds them to their collection I'm sure there will be an added cost.

Hello ladies,
It would be very interesting to see what FMP would do if TheGenealogist.co.uk did make a move to buy the images and put them on line. As the owners of FMP, BrightSolid, have been very active on the takeover trail recently TheGenealogist.co.uk might find themselves a target should they take the proposal further. FMP have a huge investment to protect.
