Hi
If anybody is visiting the LRO could I ask for a lookup for the following marriage. Susannah was my friends paternal grandmother and apparently Hughes left her with 2 small children and went off with another woman. She wants all the dirt on him!!
March qtr 1918 at Childwall All Saints
Susannah Peover to John W or John S Hughes
Freebmd has him as John S and Lancs BMD as John W. The GRO index entry is unclear
Lancs BMD has Susannah as PEONER but I have notified the error
LRO Marriage lookup please

Hi Irene
Happy to say that from the info you posted - I found him on the 1901 and 1911
He was a bit OTT with his age - actually only b 1893 Liverpool but fathers occ matches and in 1911 mum had remarried and apart from John Wilfred there was another stepson - James Gordon Hughes which matches the witness.
I have spoken to my friend and just emailed her the info - she has asked me to pass on her thanks to you
