I have come across a possible entry for my gt gt grandmother as a scholar in the Blue Coats Hospital, School Lane, Liverpool in the 1851 census.

Can anyone tell me what this organisation was?

Many thanks

I found some very useful information in the Admittance Register for the Bluecoat School, but that was for approximately 1878 ish.

I have also searched for children there at a much earlier date, around the time you are searching, and although I did find the names there was very little detail given.

It's worth checking the records, but don't be disappointed if there is a scarcity of detail.
