Cahill & Bawden Anniversary !

I know you all like a sad story to get your teeth into. Today, 26th March 2010, is the !00th Anniversary of the marriage of Helen (born Ellen) Cahill and Frederick Bawden.

Old hands at this site will recognise that Helen (Ellen) is the daughter of the elusive Sarah Ellen Cahill (born Williams) who supposedly disappeared without trace circa 1895.

Unless she died immediately, someone, somewhere must have her story tucked away in family background. She had a brother, Benjamin Williams. She had a close association with her aunt who had brought her up, Sarah Currie.

Anyway, my grandmother, Ellen (Helen) was married 100 years ago today and this is a small celebration and a huge plea for her mother Sarah Ellen Cahill to reveal herself !

No, I am not going crazy !!
Many thanks to Marie McQuade & Liverpool history projects who helped me twice today in other matters.

An appropriate toast here to the Cahill & Bawden Clans,

Alan

I'll raise a glass to that too! - well any excuse

I'm assuming that you do have the births of the children to the Bawden/Cahill marriage?

Hi Alan

Dohhh wish we could find her... I had another go only last week  like to dip into cold cases now and again.. so don't think we've forgotten, something will turn up

could do with a little list somewhere of cold cases... I keep searching for past threads to remind me of names, dates etc.

See you later :D

I appreciate that the interest is still alive ! Thanks !
As regards the Bawden children, Alice was my mother. There was one extra: Nora born Sep qtr 1910. Perhaps a little out of wedlock !?!?

Ah well ! No-one is perfect !

Not at all! just before the date that the indexes list the mother's maiden name so I couldn't tell.

This is the 3rd time I have tried to lodge this message. Is it me or the system ??
My comment on the Cahill family not being perfect, referred to their not being perfect in their ability to keep their hands off each other, not to Mary's research capabilities which are impressive.

I hope this one goes through !
